RDU arrival pickup you reserve before takeoff
Reserve an RDU arrival pickup before you fly, and the ride home is settled before the wheels touch down. You send the flight number, the terminal and the address you are heading to. We place the ride with a car company in the Triangle, and its driver will meet you at the terminal pickup zone once your bags are in hand.
Flight number sets the clock
The flight number in your request lets the car company follow the real landing time instead of the one printed on your schedule. Your included waiting starts from that moment: 45 minutes, which covers the walk from the gate and a stretch at the carousel.
An early landing moves the clock earlier and a late one moves it later, so a delay on the taxiway does not eat into your wait. Waiting past the included time is $10 per 15 minutes, stated in your quote before you confirm.
Where the driver waits and meets you
At RDU, drivers waiting for passengers stay with their cars and do not go inside the terminals. That is the airport's own rule. While you are in the air, the car sits in the commercial vehicle lot a few minutes from the curbs.
When your bags are off the belt, text or call the driver. The car pulls up at the pre-arranged pickup zone outside baggage claim:
- Terminal 1: Zone 1, just outside baggage claim
- Terminal 2: Zone 8, just outside baggage claim
- The driver meets you at the car and lifts the bags into the trunk
Names and numbers before you land
Ahead of the ride you receive the car company's name and telephone number, the vehicle, and the driver's first name. On the day, the driver's text gives the pickup zone for your terminal and the number to reply to when you are ready at the curb.
If a gate change or a diversion shifts your plan, reply to your confirmation or telephone the desk.
Bags, riders and which car fits
A sedan carries up to 3 riders and 3 checked bags, an SUV up to 5 riders and 5 bags, and a van up to 10 riders and 10 bags, plus a carry-on each. Mention strollers or child seats in the request.
Rates start at $65 per car, one way, for a sedan to Morrisville or Research Triangle Park. That published figure is a starting point, and the exact fixed rate for your ride is confirmed with you before you reserve. You pay the car company at the end of the ride, by card or cash in the car.
Every zone and vehicle class is set out on the pricing page, and a midnight landing carries the same rate as a noon one.
